I was born in 1962; you do the math. (See also: I'm too lazy to remember to update this thing regularly.) I bought my first house in the summer of 2009; I share it with four cats and with the memories of The Runt and Little Girl, who both passed away in 2011. Rocky, the cat for whom this blog was named, passed away in 2008; I miss them all. I wish I lived somewhere where the winters weren't eight months long; other than that, life is good.
The carpets are two entirely different styles, but they go exceptionally well together. Smooth transition. Cool.
How old are the kitties? I missed that, I guess. They look very young, like gangly twelve-year-old 'tweens. They seem a lot better socialized than some of the fosters you've taken in.
oh my gosh, ~~Silk, wait until you see my most recent rug find. I've gone carpet crazy ...
And supposedly, Ponyboy (orange) is approximately 14 months old right now, and Sodapop (black) is about eight months. But I think Pony's estimated age is WAY off - for one thing, he doesn't even have all of his teeth yet. (Although goodness knows I'm not a vet, so maybe that's normal, though somehow I doubt it.)And his skin lies in folds - he's obv got lots of room to grow. But some of that may be due to his malnourished upbringing - it's hard telling.
and yeah, they are really well socialized - I have Heather, their foster mom, to thank for that. She did an amazing job.
BTW, reading over my earlier comment, please don't interpret that as a criticism of your fostering! Different kitties come with different baggage. It just seems like you've had kitties with some frightening experiences in their past. Getting them out from under the bed and playing with toys is an enormous accomplishment. Jasper hid behind the dryer for his first seven to ten days with me, and we had already made food-from-the-hand friends. He never got comfortable with Miss Thunderfoot.
Birdie, yeah, we should all be sleeping with one eye open.
Kate and Becs, they're both all legs at this point. And teeth, in Sodapop's case. :)
and Becs, when Ponyboy looks up at me and squeaks (he tries to meow but it comes out as a cheep) it just slays me.
and ~~Silk, ten days behind a dryer! Poor kitty! and yeah, some cats friendly-up quicker than others. It's the older ones who can't seem to adapt who break my heart.
oh, and Becs, you know there's something to be said for the "old and groggy"s - I used to look at my old cat Rocky and marvel that he'd been around for so many years - it's fantastic that you take such good care of your seniors. :)

If more cats had contact with each other they would take over the world.
I agree with Silk's comment--Ponyboy's got some seriously long feet! Very teenagery. It seems like it's a good match all around. Cute kitties.
Thank you! This feeds my need for gangly cats. All of mine are old and groggy.
Plus I am deeply in love with the orange one.
