Taughannock Falls

Today, me and my banged-up toes did five-and-a-half miles at Tug Falls. Not too shabby!

I did the rim trails (refrain from jokes, please) (oh, hell, go ahead) first - these take you above the gorge itself. You start by going up a trillion stone stairs:

And then you get views like this:

And I will tell you right now, I was a brave little toaster for getting up this high. I am very scared of heights, and while a lot of the gorge is fenced as above, a lot of it is not.

Whoo-hoo! I took that photo from a bridge across the gorge, and I was all fine and dandy until I got OFF the bridge and looked up at the underside:

The main fall itself had very little water going over, seeing as how it hasn't rained here in a long time:

But it was still a fine day.

The gulls thought so, too.

Great pictures and great weather for going! Next time, pick up a little something at Home Depot to patch that pesky bridge. Sheesh!...Ginny
