I was born in 1962; you do the math. (See also: I'm too lazy to remember to update this thing regularly.) I bought my first house in the summer of 2009; I share it with four cats and with the memories of The Runt and Little Girl, who both passed away in 2011. Rocky, the cat for whom this blog was named, passed away in 2008; I miss them all. I wish I lived somewhere where the winters weren't eight months long; other than that, life is good.
My sister-in-law sent me a forwarded e-mail with these pics. They were supposedly taken at Elliott Lake, Ontario, Canada. The road is supposed to be a regular dirt road, i.e., one wide enough for a car to drive down.
What do you think? Real or Photoshopped? There's nothing on Snopes about a giant moose. I'd love to believe that a moose of that size is out there, but do they really get that big?
"A full grown bull moose can measure up to 10 feet long, 7 feet at the shoulder, with legs 40 inches long or more and a rack measuring over 60 inches (with 20 or more “points”) and weighing over 60 lbs. Full weight is reached in about 5 years. Bulls can reach up to 1,400 pounds (Avg. 1,000-1,200 lbs.), cows weigh between 700 and 900 lbs."

The road looks like it's one car width. What's that - maybe a little over five feet? So let's make the road seven feet wide, and imagine the moose lying down on it.
Yeah, he's a big'un, but not outside the realm of possibility. I think he looks even bigger because the trees are small.
On the OTHER hand, we only have one sun. On the road, the sun is almost setting on the left. Look at the hind legs in the top photo. The lower legs should be in much darker shadow.
Okay, so I showed these pics to guys at the office who hunt, and they agreed with Silk, that a moose that size could definitely exist. They also agree that the pics COULD be photoshopped.
hmmm.... I think somebody should send the pics to Snopes for investigation.

GOOD GOD! That is terrifyingly huge! Surely that isn't normal, is it?
