Just in time for the holiday weekend, and just after my doctor's office closed on Friday afternoon, I picked up a massive ear infection. My ear is killing me, and every time I swallow it feels like somebody's twisting a hot poker in there. The side of my neck is swollen, my jaw hurts, and last night, every time I fell asleep, I woke up choking.

Are there any urgent care places by you? I don't think I would have toughed it out all weekend.
Unfortunately, my crappy health insurance company will not pay for a visit to an emergency room or a walk-in center unless you have literally just cut an arm off with a chain saw.
I considered going to a walk-in and just paying out of pocket, but considering that the rates around here start at $150.00, I thought it was money better going toward the (theoretical) house.
But now looking back, I shoulda just ponied up the money and went, back on Friday night. Live and learn, right? Now I'm off to my doctor's office ....
Or cut your arm off with a saw...the antibiotics they gave you after the reattachment surgery would definitely whup the snot out of an ear infection.
