Seven hundred eighty.
If I had not stopped smoking on April 3, that's (approximately)how many cigarettes I would have smoked between then and now.
Yep, I was a pack-and-a-half a day gal. For damn close to thirty years. Shame, isn't it?
Cost savings so far? $139.10. In three and a half weeks, I've saved almost a hundred and forty bucks by not smoking.
The truth? It's hard. It's really, really, hard, STILL, and I have tears in my eyes a lot of the time. But all I can do is keep plugging away. I'm still clean. All I have to do is stay that way.

Holy. Shit. I really had no idea how much cigarettes cost now. When I stopped, it was still a lot of money, but daaaaaaamn. It's like you gave yourself a $150/month raise.
Everything you're going through is normal. The chemical withdrawal to the nicotine is over, but the other stuff -- time standing still (altered time perception), the rage, the emotionality, etc...all standard. Doesn't make it suck less. The cigarettes have been short-circuiting minor pains, filling in the impatient moments and now you are learning to deal with all that one situation at a time. It does get easier.
How much water do you drink per day? It's sometimes helpful when you're trying to recover from stressful situations or chemical addictions to drink more water than usual so that you can flush some of the stuff out of your body. I've found that both physical exertion and massage, two things that are supposed to be stress-relievers, release all the chemically stress or drug junk stored in my tissues and if I don't drink water like a maniac afterwards, I am a complete seethingl wreck.
And you know, I was smoking an "off" brand, purchased tax-free from a reservation. If I'd been buying Marlboros at the local store, I'dve been paying almost twice as much. Although I probably would have quit sooner.
Thanks for letting me know I'm "normal" (using that word loosely!). I wish I could just get over my damn self already, you know?
And I'm sure I should drink more water. It would have to be better for me than Diet Mountain Dew and beer, my current beverages of choice. Baby steps, people.
My boss used acupuncture years ago to quit smoking. With an extra $140, you could afford a session and it might help you stay on track.
At least this is proof that there is certainly a reward for quitting. You're getting paid to quit smoking and you'll probably live a lot longer. It's a win win. Keep it up. We're all rooting for you.
My word verification: siding
Don't. Give. Up.
