I guess now is the time to be glad you have kitties, not dogs who are desperate to go outside...to a snowless place....that you shoveled (no, not that place...keep shoveling...no, not there either...just won't do...keep shoveling...).

And, how old is that yardstick??? It looks darkened like a family heirloom from back in the mom-and-pop hardware store days.

P.S. And, speaking (writing) of exciting stuff happening in your town, did the rescue founder's new grandbaby get here all right????? Everybody happy and healthy? Named it a kitty name? ("My grandchild, Mittens, drew this picture for me.....")

I am so sorry, we have lucked out with just a couple inches that melted right away.

Ginny, truth be told, I end up shoveling habitrails in the backyard for the cats, because they go stir-crazy if they are cooped up in the house. And a houseful of amped-up, bored cats is not a pleasant thing.

The yardstick? Let me go grab it ... it's from Rehbaum's Hardware in Mount Dora, Florida. Phone 2-3321. I picked it up in an antiques store because one of my sisters used to have a house in Mount Dora.

The rescue founder's granddaughter DID get here ... her middle name is CATherine. And in other news, I am now volunteering for a different rescue, but that's a whoooooole nother story ...

and fmcetc., congrats on the good luck! Although I must say it does look beautiful here today, with a clear blue sky and all this white snow.
