Snack time
A local rescue group's trivia event is rolling around again, and the rescue for which I volunteer is putting together a team.
The food was pretty awful the last time we went, so some of us are taking food to share. One person is bringing pizza, and another is bringing chips/dip/etc.
I was thinking about bringing chicken wings, but they're awfully messy to eat. Then I was thinking about bringing a couple of shrimp rings, but that seems kind of unoriginal. THEN I was thinking bruschetta, but that's pretty similar to pizza. Does anybody have any easy snack-food-type ideas? It can't be anything that has to be served hot, because I've gotta shlep it to the event. And preferably not something that's gonna cost an arm and a leg.
Advice welcome.

I say go with the shrimp rings. I have yet to encounter a situation where there was more than enough shrimp.
Grab a carton of special fried rice. Who doesn't love special fried rice, and it costs like five bucks.
Cold pasta salad?
Becs, that is the way I'm leaning.
queen, I googled "special fried rice", and it led me right to the Urban Dictionary definition. Oops.
Kate, would be a frontrunner, except for the need to bring utensils. Ha.
You know what I'd really like to take? Deviled eggs. But I don't know if anybody likes deviled eggs except me ...
I love deviled eggs. I always say, why aren't there more shrimp and deviled eggs? Where's the plate they made just for me?
Love deviled eggs, too!
Layered bean dip with chips is good (refried beans, cheese, tomatoes, black olives, sour cream, salsa or whatever you like)
Garden pizza - crescent roll crust baked first - then cream cheese and mayo mixture topped with tomatoes, shredded cheese green pepper, etc. or go the vegie route with tomatoes, cukes, onion, etc.
Have fun!
Kris
Becs, obviously you and I were twins separated at birth. :)
and Kris, I love layered dip! Yum.
...I'm sure I'd have remembered having triplets....
~~Silk, just think of it like a soap opera - previously unknown children pop up on the soaps all the time.
