Yesterday, I decided to take a respite from kitten-wrangling. The discovery that one of the six (Sparky, I'm looking at YOU) had created a "personal bathroom" behind the bed in the foster room was all I needed to talk myself into a little break. Time to go for a hike.
Sometimes you just need to get a little fresh air.

Whoa! That's what I call a cairn! I don't know what it is about them... and I'm seeing more trout lilies this spring (at Green Lakes State Park) than I remember ever having seen before. Nice photos.
Isn't it cool when people build stuff out in the middle of the woods?
I love the first flowers of spring - the ladyslippers should be blooming soon. and jack-in-the-pulpits, too. Both of those are kind of hard to find around here, but I know a few places ...
