Who needs Mentos, when you can just leave a two-liter bottle of soda outside in single-digit weather and see how long it takes to freeze, then explode?
My neighbor is currently conducting this very experiment on our shared back deck. Sigh.

Perhaps better on the back deck than the back of the car?
Well, I'd rather it be in the back of HIS car than on our SHARED back deck! Although when I got home last night, the soda was gone from the porch, and there were no frozen soda shards strewn about, so I am assuming the experiment was halted.
