I'm off!

... to the dentist's office, to have a great big ol' tooth ground down into a leeetle nub and to get fitted for a crown.

The last time I had crown work done, the temporary crown fell off after two days, so there's that.

Oh, and the last time I had drilling work done, I found out what happens when the dentist slips with the drill, so ... yeah ...

*gulp*

wish me luck?

... and I'm back!

Puffed up and drool-y, but all in one piece. Well, except for that one tooth, that is.

Oh! And I forgot to mention the time I was getting a root canal and the dentist broke off the drill bit in my jaw ...

Oh girl this post is scary! I had those two teeth pulled about a month ago and last night pulled a huge sliver out of my gums, so now they are having to heal all over again. AND another tooth has begun to hurt! Have I mentioned I HATE going to the dentist!

Glad to hear that this appointment has been uneventful so far!

You know, I'd rather go to my ob-gyn than my dentist. At least when the ob-gyn visit's over, it's over.

I solve this problem by just not going to the dentist. Not very mature of me, I guess, but it's working so far. It also forces me to stay on top of my dental hygiene -- I know that not everything is solved by a good vigorous brush/floss, but if I can defer a crisis even for six months, that's good enough.

I'm kind of embarrassed to admit it, but I went twenty years without going to the dentist.

And now I'm paying for it. Boy, am I paying for it.
