If you are against nationalized health care, then what do you have to say to the approximately 45 million Americans who have no health insurance? "Go pound salt"? "I've got mine, tough shit about you"?
Just curious.

I am FOR nationalised health care. Absolutely. Yessir.
"Get a better job."
Although, "Go pound sand" was always good too.
Ooh, Exador, I knew that'd get a comment out of you. What about the people who are not smart enough or cannot afford enough higher education to get a "better job"? As far as that goes, a large percentage of people who work in doctor's offices are uninsured - if they all "got better jobs", who would be left to treat those of us with health insurance?
Thanks for the heads-up for "sand" vs. "salt" - you are, of course, correct!
You'd think a guy who just got his truck totalled would have some insight into the idea that not every bad thing that happens to a feller is within his control.
I am ok with the idea that some deadbeat adults will sponge off a national safety-net system; the vast majority won't (just like we don't all hang off the welfare teat or worker's comp now) and at least we won't have sick kids on our conscience every time we go to the cash register at the Quickiemart.
Hey sister, my wreck is costing me thousands, but (and this is the big BUT):
It's my wreck. I caused it. I'm responsible. If it puts me in the poor house, that sucks, but I still don't have the right to make you pay for it.
But it won't put me in the poor house because I live well within my means, allowing me to save up for the possibility of disaster, because DISASTERS HAPPEN TO EVERYBODY at some point.
If some dope wants to get shiny rims, rather than prepare for the unforeseen, then HE STILL doesn't have any right to make ME pay for it.
