Whitney Point Reservoir

A couple of weekends ago I had a chance to head up to the reservoir to do a little exploring.

That water just looks cold to me.  But there's something about an island ...

There must have been some good bugs in this tree:

It can get rather ... desolate around here this time of year:

I just love a big old barn - it's sad to see so many of them around here in disrepair.

Someday I'll buy a big old barn and renovate it and live there.  Me and the cats.  Ha.

I feel sick to see that barn like that. It's gorgeous. They just don't make them like that any more. A sin to let it die.

I agree, ~~Silk. Think how many head of livestock that barn once sheltered. And now the only things living there are the pigeons roosting in the rafters.

I'll show James the shredded-tree picture and ask about bugs...

The barn is just incredible......Here's the deal: You buy it and rent it out to the movie people for big bucks!

James says Pileated Woodpeckers have torn up the tree. Whatever it may be, it isn't much for cleaning up after itself.

Ginny, I love pileated woodpeckers! Their call sounds like a crazy chicken.
