Live-blogging from the nuthouse

Right now, my boss is on a conference call with one of our clients. And they are discussing how Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh have it right, and our country is going to hell in a handbasket because of the liberals. And the word "fear" keeps coming up.

*gag*

You know what they're afraid of? They're afraid that now that a black man is president, their rich white asses are going to have to start paying their fair share. Because a non-member took over the club.

Oh shit, now they're discussing the genius of John McCain.

Gentlemen. For the record, John McCain is crazier than a shithouse rat.

Help me ........

that's no good. I hate crazy repugs. :( You are right on about them being all butthurt about paying their share. That's what this is about.

You know, the thing is, my boss is one of the most intelligent people I know. So it baffles me that he believes this crap.

I don't think McCain is crazy (the Palin selection aside); I think of him more as Angry, Awkward, Out-of-Touch Dude.

Beck and Limbaugh, of course, are revolting. Beck was recently awarded the key to the city in Mount Vernon, Washington, over fairly vociferous protests. Later, Bellingham, WA, tried to award the key to the city to Jon Stewart, but he was like, "um, that's near Mount Vernon, right? Yeah, no thanks."

I have to wonder how much of his own bullshit Glenn Beck believes, and how much he spouts just because it pays the bills.

And Jon Stewart rocks.

Glenn Beck is a calculating hustler. He's identified a type of person who lacks the courage to own up to ignorant bigotry, but who is happy to parrot the ignorant bigotry of talk show host -- he is making his fortune marketing himself to these "quoters" who want to be reassured that other dumbfucks also believe idiotic things contrary to observable fact. It's a disturbing form of performance art.
