How did I become such a nerd?

So, I got home from work with a massive headache tonight, so I figured I'd eat some dinner and then switch on the opening ceremonies at the Olympics while I zoned out for the evening, and then Katie Couric mentioned that what I was watching on my TV was "augmented reality", i.e., what I was seeing was not what was being seen by people actually in the stadium. So then I wondered what the difference was between "augmented reality" and "alternative facts", and down the research rabbit hole I went.
