And now for something completely different ...

... a post about something other than cats!  Who'd a thunk it?

After the SNAP run was done on last Saturday, I headed to Salt Springs to get some hiking in.

A lot of the leaves have fallen now, but it was still a pretty day.

Dear person who was TOO LAZY to carry out your snack trash (I somehow managed to put it in my pocket and transport it back to my car with no difficulty whatsoever, IMAGINE THAT):  Screw you.

Penny Rock:

Just married, or newly engaged?  I'm guessing just married:

Here comes Peter Cottontail:

It was kind of odd to be hiking instead of paddling, but it was still a pretty day.

haha Tails, KITTIES STAYED HOME. :)

and Penny Rock is a big old rock by the side of one of the trails - my sister-in-law, who grew up near the park before it WAS a park and has since passed away, used to say that kids had been putting pennies in between the layers of the rock since, well, forever. I don't know what it is about the rock that makes the pennies melt like that, though. :) And I keep forgetting to put some pennies in my pocket before I go so that I can add to the tradition!

What Tails said........Really nice pictures except for the dearth of kittens.

I wonder whether today's pennies (different metal makeup from the fifties, etc.) would bend like the old ones. That is too weird.

You should have barged right into that wedding shoot and slammed the litter you found in their hands with a stern warning. Hey, it had to belong to SOMEONE.....might have been them.

OK, now I am Googling like a crazy person to find out why pennies would warp in the sun or elements. All I can find is how to "melt" pennies or bend them with a special kind of lens and the sun. Humph.

Also, the write-ups say you will need a hammer to get your penny in there with the others.
