Saturday Night

I was sitting here watching Dr. Pol tonight, wishing I had cupcakes, when I idly thought, well,  I could *make* some cupcakes, but that would take longer than I am willing to wait.

Then I thought, you know what, there should be cupcake delivery service, just like you can order pizza.  Wouldn't that be awesome?

THEN I realized, holy cow, I actually HAVE some little mini-cupcakes in the fridge, left over from a rescue event last week.

And then the angels sang.  I have cupcakes.

And that's my Saturday night.  Yours?

Surprise cupcakes?? Miracles DO happen.

I actually made some sweet potato bread (quick bread) tonight. And I'm totally pooped now.

There TOTALLY should be a cupcake delivery service.

Alas, I have no cupcakes - I do however, have fudgesicles in the freezer, and I can totally work with that.

My Saturday evening is being spent planning meals for the week, so that I can cook tomorrow and be prepared for the week. So far I have salmon on the menu, because it was $3.99 a pound and I picked up three pieces!

Right next to my pizza place (delivery only, thank you, and they do have cannoli for dessert), there's a dry cleaner and a Quick Check. I cannot for the life of my understand why they can't deliver a small pepperoni pie, a cannoli, my dry cleaning, a half gallon of milk and Pepperidge Farm Tahoe cookies. There are economic opportunities being missed here, people!

Kate, I've never had sweet potato bread before. Is it more bread-ish, or dessert-ish?

spiff, I haven't even thought about fudgesicles in a long, long time. Maybe it's time to buy some ...

and Becs, I think you're on to something.

Dessert-ish. It's like a spiced pumpkin bread or zucchini bread. Someone my husband works with also works in the fields picking, apparently, gigantic sweet potatoes, so we gave us a bunch. I don't even really like sweet potato, but the bread wasn't bad.

but you have to wait 2-4 hours, at which point you might as well make your own (not to mention you have to live in the right city)

Kate, if I ever run into any sweet potato bread, I'll have to give it a try.

Tails, according to their website, Sprinkles has cupcake ATMs! Swoon.
