I had this dream last night ........
(click click click clickclickclickCLICKCLICKCLICKCLICK)
(That's the sound of everybody clicking over to other sites at the mention of SOMEONE ELSE'S DREAM, for God's sake.)
ANYWAY (heh), I had this really scary dream about zombies. Normally, zombies are not in the top ten list of things I worry about, mainly because THEY DO NOT EXIST, but I dreamed about them anyway, and it was one of those dreams that was so frightening, I woke up and was still in the dream for a moment, wondering how I was going to get rid of the damn zombies.
So! That's the last "dream post" I'll do, oh ......... ever. I'll get something else up here real soon so everybody can come back.

Deformed Rabbits at the Bottom of the World
We had to swim and then drive to get there where it was warm.

Forgiveness
"Until this moment I had believed forgiveness to be a special virtue, a beneficence God expected of good people. But it wasn't that at all. Forgiveness was an instinct, a desperate impulse to stay connected to the people you needed, no matter what their betrayals." - From "My Only Story" by Monica Wood
Last night I dreamed I was beating the shit out of my ex-boyfriend. I mean, just pounding the crap out of him. And I woke up and wondered why I was still so angry with him. I mean, yes, he was a complete and total shitheel and deserves to die a long and painful death (bitter? not me!), but I left him over 15 years ago. Why can't I just let it go?
And then I remembered reading something about forgiveness earlier in the evening, and I had to get up and get the book and find the passage (above), which basically (if I am reading it correctly) says that people forgive other people because they need to, for their own reasons, and not because it is a virtuous thing to do. Which made me feel better, because I am not real strong on the whole forgiveness thing.
There is a Pretenders song, "I'll Stand by You", which was recently re-recorded by Carrie Underwood. I think it was Carrie Underwood. Don't quote me on that. ANYway, one line of the song goes, "Nothing you confess could make me love you less".
WHAT???! Honey, I can think of ten things right off the top of my head that someone could say to me that would not only make me love them less, but would have me running for the shotgun.
I mean, really!
Is that what is meant by "unconditional love"? That you love someone no matter what? Because I think that's a crock of shit. I could go on and on here, but my point (and I do have one! I think!) is that I evidently have a pretty major unresolved anger issue floating around in my life, and maybe it's time I tried to deal with it. I don't know how, but maybe thinking about it and writing about it is the first step.
I started this blog as a lark, just a fun thing to do. And now I find out I'm actually learning from it, dammit! Who'd a thunk it?

Dreamz
Ok, I confess, I have been known to watch Survivor. Also any other piece of crap on TV that catches my eye. So, last week I was watching Survivor, and there's this guy on there whose name is Dreamz. WTF? I think Lisi had it right when she said something along the lines of, "What kind of a grown man calls himself Dreamz?" Ha ha ha! Of course, "Lisi" is not exactly a standard name either.
SO, I had a dream the other night that Richard Gere divorced his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, so that he could hook up with me. (I KNOW they're not married, I KNOW Richard Gere is gay, it was a dream, Ok?) And I don't even like Richard Gere particularly, but that was a pretty good dream. Ahem.
I got to thinking about how, in Hollywood, if you reach a certain age, and you're not married, and you don't have any kids (Richard Gere, George Clooney, etc.), the assumption is that you're gay. And I was totally buying into that, until I realized, hey, I'm not married, I've reached a certain age, I don't have any kids ................ Ooooops. NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH BEING GAY. But now I have to wonder ......... do people think I'm gay? Oh Lord.

Braaaaaaiiiinnss . . . .
I had a dream about zombies last night that scared me so badly I had to get up and turn on practically every light in the apartment and check underneath the bed to make sure a zombie wasn't hiding under there. Seriously. Am I the only one who still has very scary dreams about things that don't even exist, for pete's sake?
So when I went back to bed the cat jumped up next to me and stared intently out into the hallway for several minutes, like something scary was out there. Thanks, cat.
And why are zombies so scary, anyway? I mean, all you have to do is outrun them, and they're not exactly sprinters.
