Breaking News!

I had heard rumors this past week, but yesterday it was confirmed - Rosalita has been adopted!

Rosa, the first-time mama who raised her own five kittens AND four orphan kittens, AND helped out with the education of Punkin Pie, was adopted by a woman who will give her a life full of love.

That means that right now, the only one of "my" fosters currently at the adoption center is Punkin.

Punkin is proving to be a bit of a challenge. As a former barn cat, she is a bit more feisty than most of the other kittens at the center who are around the same age. She also had to be recently quarantined for ten days after she BIT one of the volunteers who was trying to clean her ears (PUNKIN!).  However, I visited with her yesterday and she is doing well,  plus she currently has an application pending by someone who wasn't scared off by her determined spirit, so hopefully she'll be going home soon.

Bam Bam, the little heart murmur foster, has an appointment at Cornell on the 26th for further testing to determine the extent of his condition, so I'll keep you posted.  Not sure if I told you, but the same person who adopted him (a volunteer at the center), also adopted his sister Pebbles, so he has plenty of company while he waits for his doctor appointment.

I still have two fosters here at the house, Jughead and Sandy, who will be going to the center soon.  And everybody else has been adopted!

Yaaaaaay!

Off topic, but a new reality show on TLC about 25 family members living in a house with 2 bathrooms. I thought of you when I heard about it.

YAY for adopted momma cats!!! Punkin....buddy.... (though don't we all love the bad ones just a little bit more)

fmcetc., you KNOW I'm gonna watch that!

And Random, yep, I'm a sucker for a "bad cat". It's only by a monumental act of self-control that Punkin has not become Permacat #4. :)

Paws crossed that PUNKin's adoption works out :) like both of you, I love the 'bad cat' too. Purrs for Bam Bam's appointment and you get the best possible news.

Tails, Bam's adopter is determined to give him the best quality of life possible no matter what the tests reveal. I'm so glad she adopted him.

I don't understand why you feel you can't take Punkin Pie home. It's not like you add a perma cat very frequently. If you feel strongly about him, then it is sad that you are restraining yourself. Also, Tinks, Soda and Pony will have someone to BLAME THINGS ON.

James P., as much as I would sometimes like to "keep them all", that way lies madness. :) My job is to foster them for a little while, and then let them move on. Punkin will find her people - it just takes a little longer for kittens with her, er, special personality. haha.

(Humph! *looks away with arms crossed over chest*)

So happy about Rosalita.........Thought you might think about keeping her.....What a sweet cat. One of the very best cat portraits you've posted was her on your lap, looking at you upside down.

As for Sandy....hmm.......hope SOMEONE out there is looking for reform-school-cat material. He really MUST be driving Little Jug (another I half-expected you to keep after bottle-feeding him) nutso.

James P., I was at the adoption center this morning cleaning, and Punkin has indeed found her people and has gone to her new home. Woot! They are in for a TREAT, and I mean that sincerely.
